Johann Georg Stockmann

Johann Georg Stockman the immigrant arrived in Philadelphia with his family on the Ship Fane. He was nine years of age and therefore did not give an oath of allegiance as did his two older brothers who arrived on the same ship.

Johann Georg Stockmann was as christened in the  Evangelisch-Reformierte Church of  Burbach, Nassau Siegen, a duchy of the House of Orange  8 May 1740.  Burbach is located about 20 miles south of the City of Siegen, some 60 miles east of Bonn, Westphalia, Germany.

Family
Johann Georg Stockmann married Anna Barbara Heim and they raised their family in Frederick County, MD. He made his will on 7 Nov. 1815 and died soon afterward.  Anna Barbara died prior to her husband.

The Will of Johann Georg Stockmann

LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF GEORGE STOCKMAN

In the name of God, Amen.
I George Stockman of Frederick County and State of Maryland knowing the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time there of and being willing and desirous to settle my worldly affairs as far as I am able before I depart from this life being now weak in body but on perfect disposing mind, memory and understanding do make and establish this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following - Imprimis It is my will and desire that my funeral charges and all my just debts be first paid out of my estate by my Executors hereinafter named without delay then I give and bequeath in the following manner viz - Item. I give bequeath unto my son Jacob Stockman and to my son William Stockman the plantation where on I now live, lying and being in Frederick County, Maryland, begin part of a tract of land called Part of the Resurvey on Wells Prevention known and distinguished by Lott Number Three containing one hundred and fourteen acres of land more or less to be equally divided between them - my son Jacob Stockman to have that part and the building where I now live and my son William Stockman to have that part of the land and building where my son Philip Stockman now lives on those express conditions they paying to the rest of my children hereafter named the sums hereafter specified to them and their heirs forever - Item. It is my will and I do order and direct that my sons Jacob Stockman and William Stockman pay to the rest of my children here named to my daughter Catherine Coblentz two hundred dollars one year after my decease. To my son David Stockman two hundred dollars two years after my decease, to my daughter Mary Stockman two hundred dollars four years after my decease, to my daughter Anna Heim two hundred dollars five years after my decease - to my son John Stockman two hundred dollars six years after my decease. To my son George Stockman two hundred dollars good and lawful money seven years after my decease - and all the rest and residue of my Estate I give and bequeath in manner following, to wit - I give and bequeath unto my son Jacob Stockman my Clock - One Bed, Bedstead, and Bedding, and my Wheat fan over and above his share in the land. Item. I give and bequeath to my son William Stockman my Desk, One Bed, Bedstead and bedding over and above his share. Item. I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Stockman one Bed, Bedstead and Bedding and one Milk Cow her choice of my Stock over and above her share - Item. I give and bequeath unto my grandsons Elias Heim twenty five dollars to be paid him by my Executor out of my personal Estate. All the rest and residue of my personal estate I order and direct to be sold at Public Vendue to the highest bidder and the money arising from the sale of the same to be equally divided between my nine children here to fore mentioned share and share alike - And lastly I hereby constitute and appoint my sons Jacob Stockman nd William Stockman my true and lawful Executors of this my Last Will and Testament revoking and annulling all former wills by me heretofore made ratifying and confirming this one none other to be my last Will and Testament - in testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this seventh day of November in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and fifteen.
